What We Learned:

For the last two Sundays, your child has learned about what God created in the first two days. For the day one creation, we turned the lights off and everyone shouted, “Let there be light!” and the light came on. I gave them Oreos to take home so during the week as they eat, they would remember that God separated day and night. On day two, kids played a game of separating white “cloud” balloons from blue “water” balloons and learned that God made the sky and separated water below from water above. We ate blue jellos w/ marshmallows on top! We will cover what God created each day one Sunday at a time. The children also learned how big and mighty God is for creating the whole world and everything in it! They were reminded such a BIG and mighty God loves them! (Scripture used: Genesis 1:6)

Words to Remember:
(Bible versions used are selected to help young children learn and understand the meaning of scripture.)

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” Genesis 1:1 NIV

Practice this verse several times with your child during the week. This will not only help your child to remember the verse, but also it will help to reinforce what he or she has learned during class.

Suggested Parent/Child Activity:

Take a walk around your neighborhood or take your child to the park. Let your child point out things in nature that he or she remembers hearing about in the lesson. Explain that God made everything in nature, and He made it for us to enjoy!

Daily Prayer:

Dear Lord, thank You so much for all of the beautiful things all around me. Thank You for sharing the smells, colors, and shapes of all of your creation. Help me remember to thank You every day for the big things and the little things in nature. Amen.
