AWANA

Awana – Fridays @ 6:30pm

KCPCH (Harvest’s sister congregation) has started AWANA on Friday evenings. The program begins at 6:30pm and meets at church. This is a great opportunity for your kids to learn Bible lessons and verses while having fun! Also, the program is still in need of 6 additional volunteers. Hiring A New Children’s Ministry Director

Congrats to Elise Park, who has just been voted in as our new Children’s Ministry Director! A congregational meeting was held this past Sunday, Aug. 14, and the church has ruled in favor of hiring Elise as our very first Children’s Ministry Director. She is a woman of great passion and vision for children and is very excited about developing and leading our Children’s Ministry.  Please be in prayer for her as the new ministry kicks off!

La Villa Mission Trip 2011

Our mission trip was closer to home in La Villa, Texas this year. We were convicted to help Pastor Allen convert his garage to dormitories for missionaries that would be serving in La Villa. We spent the day sanding, cleaning and texturizing the walls and ceilings before finally painting it. While we were there, they also install the bathroom and showers as well as the kitchen. In the evenings, we held a Community Fair for the neighborhood around the church. Some of the services provided were eye care, college entry, personal finance, diabetes info. and immigration questions. It was so amazing to see our team filled with the spirit to serve. Finally, on our last day, it was a treat to volunteer at the Sea Turtle Hospital in South Padre Island. We learned so much about the state of the turtles and was able to help in protecting our endangered species. Through it all, we did it for the Glory of God.

Mission Trip 2011

Harvest summer mission trip 2011 – aug 9-13

The LaVilla Team has returned from their excursion to South Texas and it definitely sounds like it was an invigorating time, where the Spirit moved and empowered!  Be sure to come out to one of the worship services this week (either Saturday at 5pm or Sunday at 9:30am) and hear how the team: helped transform a garage into a dorm (with bathroom, kitchen and bedroom) for future seminarians, put on an evening community fair for the neighborhood around the church that featured topics such as eye care, college entry, personal finance, diabetes information and immigration questions and finally were able to volunteer at a local sea turtle hospital and were educated about protecting the endangered species.  The goal and focus of the team was to bring Glory to God and they did all they could to do so!  Also, be on the lookout for the mission trip video!
